Bri and I went on a drive through Central City to see their cemeteries and made a point to come back and actually go into town and see what Colorado gambling is like (unless you count the Sky Ute Casino, which we do not). So with ten dollars to split we drove up and tested out our luck.

It was another wonderful October day which made the drive up I-70 to the Central City Highway quite the enjoyable ride.
We started in Blackhawk,CO which is the newest gambling hot spot,with Central City up north having more of the older buildings. There is a great article on the history of Blackhawk and Central City at Westword.com, if one is so inclined to delve deeper.
The Ameristar is the new kid on the block and it is a sight to see.
Not much people on the streets, we were up there early in the day and the rowdy senior citizens don't show up until the late, late hours of the afternoon.

No Central City, thank you. We didn't end up taking any mega jack pots home, but we did get some great fall colors, and all the free soda and popcorn we could eat. Another 10 dollars well spent.
